WHITE FEATHER

John met his Spirit Guide, Whitefeather, some years ago. Over many months Whitefeather would take John back in time to his Village to show him how life was like back then. They went hunting and riding together and John discovered that Whitefeather was married and had three children two boys and a girl.

During these journeys Whitefeather was able to show John the Places where they Camped during Summer and took refuge during the harsh Winter months through to spring.

Johns Spirit Guide was a Kiowa Apache Shaman, a wise man, a Spiritual leader and tribal Healer or medicine man as white people referred to them.

During this time Whitefeather was able to present himself to John as a Young Man, the Hunter in his late twenties, this is when they go riding and hunting together. Whitefeather then presented himself to John as he was in his late forties early fifties when he would support John working with Spirit, finally Whitefeather presented John with the Old and wise image of himself, The Elder and Teacher that inspires the Circle and workshops that John and Whitefeather deliver to others.

Whitefeather lived on the earth plain for 75 years before passing to Spirit in 1876 on Quartz mountain just outside ALTUS in Oklahoma, USA.

The Story that Whitefeather told John was that it was deep Winter the people of the Village had taken Shelter in the Tree Line as was the normal Custom for many Years.

The Hunting that year had been very poor and food was scarce. With the lack of food was the lack of Skins and pelts to make warm clothing. Therefore, when the Snows arrived all in the village suffered greatly.

As Hunger crept into the camp one night Whitefeather made his way to a nearby cave which was sacred within the nearby burial ground and simply went to sleep and never woke up. He decided that the energy his portion of food would have given him would be best served to the children.

Some years later evidence of this story was given to John through two very dear friends Shelly Traver and John Boff who visited Quartz mountain and found the cave spoken about by Whitefeather to John..

The White Feather Lodge Development and Healing Sanctuary

The Sanctuary was built from a converted garage, which was in major need of repair; it was inspired by John's Spirit Guide, White Feather. Stephen Harris, spent many hours of dedicated time and effort, with the support of his wife and partner Sue in building the Sanctuary. The aim was to create an environment that would offer a place of comfort, support, upliftment and Healing to everyone who enters the Sanctuary. The Sanctuary was cleansed and energised by John who followed the directions of White Feather, by following a Native American blessing ritual.

Johns Circle members at that time were Jayne, Janet, Jan and Ian who also played an active part in committing the Healing Circles energies for the Sanctuary. Maureen, John's partner and her daughter Sue had the eye for detail that has given the Sanctuary its final appearance. It was through the efforts of everyone involved that the Sanctuary was completed in less than seven months.

The Medicine Wheel

The Native Americans recognised the Power of Mother Earth and the energies of Crystals. This was no more so in the Healing Wheel.

The Whitefeather Lodge Development and Healing Sanctuary has a Medicine Wheel in the exact Centre of its floor.

Although different Tribes used different Crystals, the Medicine Wheel we have is a LACOTA Medicine Wheel and was made from specific Crystals.

The Wheel has Crystals which point to the Four Corners of the Earth (The Four Points of the Compass). It also has an outer Circle of Turquoise Crystals providing both Healing Energy but most of all PROTECTION to the Sanctuary.

The Medicine Wheel created a circle of energy, which the Shaman called upon for Healing.

All of the Crystals are genuine and have been donated by people from around the country. Many people feel its energy when they enter the Sanctuary for the first time.

CONNECTING WITH SPIRIT

Back in 2001 John was having a weekend break in Somerset. Whitefeather told John to go to Weston -Super- Mare a famous seaside resort in that area. John followed instructions and found himself outside a Hotel called The Birchfield Hotel.

He went inside and asked the Receptionist if it had a function room, it had. So again by following White feather's instructions John made a provisional booking for the following February.

Over the following three weeks Whitefeather explained to John that they were going to organise a "Special Event" called : CONNECTING WITH SPIRIT

The first event was a great success and is now an Annual event the next one is booked for February 2009. Although the venue has now changed the purpose of this event remains the same.

Since that time the term "CONNECTING WITH SPIRIT" relates to ALL the Work that John and Whitefeather do together. Hence the name for this WEB Site being called Connecting with Spirit
